The great man with his palette. He looks very earnest and absurd presiding over the Ikea edition of Duchamp's Fountain. Or maybe he's just an art tutor dreaming of his own retrospective.
Artist's Statement:
The work 'Fountain' is playing with the tradition of public memorials and the glorification of artists.
The sweetness of the small painter evokes a warm feeling and tries to seduce with the result that it attacks you in a disturbing way. On closer observation, you find a grotesque figure, standing between publicity and privacy unwilling to interact; forming another world in his mysterious, distressed and intangible way.
