Phil Collins works primarily with live art and video and has shown his work widely throughout the UK and Europe. His most recent show with the Max Factory, a collaborative performance group, entitled 'who we were and why didn't we get what we wanted' was a discussion of terrorism and cultural hegemony (dressed in shellsuits and bad wigs) and was sited at a series of diverse locations, including the ICA London, a bus station in Liverpool and a University Campus in Germany. His latest public durational work 'Happy Days, the lowlights', presented in Belfast and Dublin, saw him spend eight hours a day in a recreated 80s office, in a submerged critique of regulated economic time.
