Roo Dhissou is an artist/researcher who works with communities, diasporas and her own histories. Using community engaged practice, craft, cooking, performance and installation she explores how communal and individual identities are formed. Recent Solo shows include: Courses for Dis-Course(s), GLOAM and Primary (2023). Group exhibitions include: Ikon x Osman Yousefzada, Ikon Gallery, (2024); breathe, spirit and life, The Bluecoat (2022-23), Our City, BMAG (2022); Twenty Twenty Collection, The New Art Gallery Walsall (2022); Coventry Biennial (2021-22); Niru Ratnam, (2021). Dhissou has work in permanent collections including Arts Council Collection and was the recipient of the Tate Liverpool students award 2020.
