Rosa Johan Uddoh and Tom Smith Performances at South London Gallery

30 January 2019 -

New Contemporaries artists Rosa Johan Uddoh and Tom Smith present solo performances. Both artists’ work has been shaped by television and their performances will deal with personal identity through the lens of the small screen. Tom Smith’s performances stitch together personal anecdotes to talk about a wide range of subjects such as nostalgia, stagecraft, and spectatorship. Rosa Johan Uddoh roots her stories in specific places and materials, using ceramics, video, writing and sound, to explore alternative approaches to collective memory and black feminism.
