Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2014 Artists Announced

This year, 55 artists will join the roster of Bloomberg New Contemporaries, which includes previous exhibitors Jake & Dinos Chapman, Tacita Dean, Mona Hatoum, Damien Hirst, David Hockney and Mike Nelson. Marking its 65th anniversary, selectors Marvin Gaye Chetwynd, Enrico David and Goshka Macuga have chosen works by the most promising artists emerging from UK art schools from 1,400 submissions.

An integral part of Liverpool Biennial since it began, this year’s show will launch at World Museum, Liverpool from 20 September – 26 October 2014 before touring to ICA, London from 26 November 2014 – 25 January 2015.

Selected artists for Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2014 are: Lucy Beech, Dinah Berger, Louise Bradley, Jesc Bunyard, Matt Copson, Racheal Crowther, Yi Dai, Tajinder Dhami, Bee Flowers, Alice Gauthier, Marco Godoy, Victoria Grenier, Stacey Guthrie, Alice Hartley, Katie Hayward, Edward Hill, Yussef Hu, Matthew Humphreys, Henry Hussey, Marie Jacotey-Voyatzis, Lucy Joyce, Melissa Kime, Xiaoyang Li 'Lee', Inga Lineviciute, Andrea Medjesi-Jones, Jonathan Meira, MKLK, Ebrel Moore, Emily Motto, Emely Neu, Laura O'Neill, Lydia Ourahmane, Athena Papadopoulos, Catherine Parsonage, Imran Perretta, Miroslav Pomichal, Charles Richardson, Simon Senn, Xin Shen, Will Sheridan Jr., Mustafa Sidki, David Cyrus Smith, Marilia Stagkouraki, Jane Stobart, John Thole, Ian Tricker, Manon Valli, Milou van der Maaden, Tess Vaughan, Adam Wallace, Deborah Westmancoat, Joseph Whitmore, Frances Williams, Ben Zawalich and Adam Zoltowski.

Showcasing final year students, graduates and artists one year out of study, the annual national touring exhibition has consistently been a barometer of contemporary art practice, shining a spotlight on the hottest talents of the year.

This year’s Bloomberg New Contemporaries participants will benefit from the new partnership with Artquest, which will deliver an events programme designed to help them capitalise on the opportunity offered and develop strategies for their future sustainability. This will comprise one-to-one advice sessions alongside an ongoing national programme of peer mentoring sessions presented with New Contemporaries’ partner venues network.
