Studio Bursary Opportunity for Bloomberg New Contemporaries Alumni with One Thoresby Street
24 July 2019
New Contemporaries is delighted to be offering a year long studio bursary in partnership with One Thoresby Street, (OTS) Nottingham from November 2019 to November 2020.
The opportunity to apply for a free studio and membership at One Thoresby Street is open to all Bloomberg New Contemporaries Alumni from the last 8 years (2011 to 2018 inclusive).
One Thoresby Street is home to a vibrant community of artists and plays a significant role in the dynamic Nottingham art scene. One Thoresby Street was an exhibition partner for the launch of Bloomberg New Contemporaries in September 2015.
This is the fourth year of the studio bursary opportunity, which has previously been awarded to Sophie Mackfall (BNC16) in 2018, Seungjo Jeong (BNC16) in 2017 and Sophie Giller (BNC15) in 2016.
The highlight of the residency at One Thoresby Street was for me the luxury of seeing diverse art-forms created on site, presented at the weekly series of members-led exhibitions in which I also participated
Seungjo Jeong
My residency bursary with New Contemporaries at One Thoresby Street studios has allowed me to move and experience a new city, expand my artist practice enormously, and allowed me to be part of an exciting community of artists in both the Thoresby Street studios, and the wider group of artists across the other artist-led spaces
Sophie Giller
