Sophie Lloyd’s sculptural practice caricatures the idea of the ‘perfect consumer’; profitable and reduced to sleepless, dopamine junkies or as Influencers. Lloyd’s process of working with sugar and lead is like a series of episodic dramas as the sugar misbehaves within the constraints of ‘stained glass’. She graduated in 2023 from City and Guilds of London Art School with a BA in Fine Art. Lloyd was awarded the Anthony Caro Sculpture Prize as well as the New Blood Emerging Art Prize at the Saatchi Gallery in 2023. She is currently an artist in residence at Lee Alexander McQueen’s Sarabande Foundation.
