Over nearly seven decades, we have played a significant role in giving a visibility to generations of emerging UK-based artists. Our alumni include significant post-war figures such as Frank Auerbach and Paula Rego; pop artists including Patrick Caulfield, Frank Bowling and David Hockney; decade-defining YBAs Damien Hirst, Chris Ofili and Gillian Wearing; alongside other significant contemporary figures such as Tacita Dean, Isaac Julien, Mona Hatoum, Mike Nelson, Grayson Perry and Anish Kapoor. More recently emerging influential artists Ed Atkins, Becky Beasley, Phil Collins, Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, Nathaniel Mellors, Haroon Mirza and Laure Prouvost have been selected.
Bloomberg Philanthropies is currently the title sponsor of our annual exhibition and we are proud to form part of Arts Council England National Portfolio of Organisations. In addition to these main sources of support we generate income through submissions, sales, trusts and foundations and our Supporters Club.
