I am curious about this feeling of a single narrative, sliced up and held in different homes. Perhaps they will be reconnected one day

BNC2020 artist Orfeo O’Leary Tagiuri has created a mail art project with a hand-drawn animation across 55 postcards, one of which will be posted to you if you email us at info@newcontemporaries.org.uk with a postal address*. When delivered we ask you photograph the postcard and tag @orfeot and @newcontemps on your Instagram post to create the loop again.
“In animation I am drawn to the in-between moments where one form is in the process of contorting into another. A head half turned, a leg mid step, a bird on the brink of take-off. These are moments I would never otherwise depict. In creating a hand-drawn animation across 55 postcards each individual image is imbued with the momentum of the overall story. It is an act of storytelling where the story is simply the process of becoming. The animation itself is a little daydream, a figure in a cloud who disappears at the touch of a heart. I am curious about this feeling of a single narrative, sliced up and held in different homes. Perhaps they will be reconnected one day.”
