Studio bursary in partnership with SPACE at Deborah House, Hackney

New Contemporaries is delighted to again be offering a studio bursary in partnership with SPACE at Deborah House, Hackney from 1 April 2020 - 31 March 2021. Previous recipients of the studio bursary are Matt Copson in 2015, Anita Delaney in 2016, Andrea Zucchini in 2017, Katie Schwab in 2018 and Antonia Showering in 2019.

The opportunity to apply for a free studio is open to all Bloomberg New Contemporaries Alumni from the last five years (2015 to 2019 inclusive).

Bursary dates:

1 April 2020 - 31 March 2021

Criteria:

You must have exhibited as part of Bloomberg New Contemporaries between 2015 and 2019 inclusive.
The bursary is for studio space only and does not cover living costs.
You must agree to produce digital content (on at least 2 occasions over the residency) describing your experience of having the studio.

Application Requirements:

To apply please submit one PDF document set in 11 point font containing the information below presented in the following order:

Artists CV containing contact details. No more than 1 page of A4.
Short statement of no more than 300 words about your work.
Summary of no more than 300 words explaining how the opportunity will benefit your practice. For artists applying that are not currently based in London, it would be useful to understand how you are going to support yourself as living expenses are not included in the bursary.
Which year you exhibited in Bloomberg New Contemporaries.
A maximum of 5 images of your work or Vimeo links. Including title, year of completion and medium of work. Please note that these works must have been completed within the last 2 years.
